A Curiosity of Women

You can learn a lot from the women who came before you—the cursing women, the sweet women, the virtuous women, the sporty women, the quiet women, the wise women, the hustling women, and the intellectual women. The women with little, the women who have a lot, the women who were desired, and the plain women all have something to teach you about life. A curiosity about people will allow you to notice without judgment, allowing their stories, ways, and outcomes to give you insight into the world and how it works.

Curiosity and intrigue permit you to engage with the essence of a woman, her desires, and her dreams. It allows you to listen and learn about what life promised her and the ways things did not always pan out. Understanding that experience is our greatest teacher and finding value in those whose lives took a different direction, even the women who appear to be defeated by life, have something to teach you. The teen mothers, the travelers, the educators, the women with many husbands or lovers, the domestic women who gave of themselves, the good mothers, the neglectful mothers, and the glamorous women all have something to teach you—remain curious. Read their books; see yourself in all these women, for they are your teachers.
